About the Journal
Journal of Fashion Design and Textiles (DESILLES) is a peer-reviewed academic journal established in 2026 as a scholarly platform dedicated to advancing knowledge and research in the interrelated fields of fashion design and textiles. The journal was established in response to the growing need for an interdisciplinary academic space that bridges creative practice, innovation, historical perspectives, and contemporary issues within fashion design and textile studies. DESILLES has obtained its E-ISSN, with the number E-ISSN 3164-0958.
Journal of Fashion Design and Textiles (DESILLES) welcomes scholarly contributions covering a broad range of topics, including Fashion Design (design methodologies, trends, sustainable practices, technological advancements in fashion, and the role of fashion in identity construction and cultural significance), Textiles (traditional and modern textile techniques, materials and practices, innovation in textile technology, and the impact of digitalization on textile production), and Sustainability and Ethics (ethical issues in fashion production, consumption, and disposal, sustainable design practices, eco-friendly materials, and the circular economy within the fashion and textile industry). The journal publishes research articles, literature reviews, and case studies that contribute to the development of theory and practice in these fields. Various research approaches are welcomed, including qualitative and quantitative research, case studies, field research, and critical literature reviews.
The journal is intended for academics, researchers, students, designers, practitioners, and other stakeholders with an interest in fashion design and textiles. By fostering an interdisciplinary approach, DESILLES aims to serve as a bridge between academic research and industry practice, promoting a holistic understanding of fashion and textile fields in a global context, while advancing academic knowledge and providing practical insights that support innovation, sustainability, and creative development in the fashion and textile industry.
DESILLES is published twice a year, with Issue 1 published in March and Issue 2 published in September, by Politeknik Kreatif Indonesia. The journal is committed to maintaining the quality, originality, and relevance of published works. Editors may revise accepted manuscripts for language, formatting, and editorial consistency without changing their substance after the blind review process. Articles submitted to DESILLES must be original works and must not be under consideration for publication in other journals or publishers.
