About the Journal
DESILLES: Journal of Fashion Design, Textile Craft, Culture, and Art is an academic platform dedicated to advancing knowledge and research in the interrelated fields of fashion design, textile craft, cultural studies, and the arts. We welcome contributions that explore the intersection of creative practice, innovation, historical perspectives, and contemporary issues within these fields. Our scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Fashion Design: Investigations into design methodologies, trends, sustainable practices, and technological advancements in fashion. This includes analyses of fashion as an art form, its role in identity construction, and its cultural significance.
- Textile Craft: Research on traditional and modern textile techniques, materials, and practices. Studies on the preservation of craft heritage, innovation in textile technology, and the impact of digitalization on textile production are highly encouraged.
- Culture: Examination of how fashion and textiles intersect with cultural identity, social values, and globalization. We encourage articles that delve into cultural aesthetics, fashion anthropology, and the socio-political dimensions of clothing and textiles.
- Art and Aesthetics: Contributions exploring the artistic aspects of fashion and textiles, including studies on color, form, texture, and symbolism. We are particularly interested in research on collaborations between fashion and other art forms, as well as visual analysis of designs and textile artworks.
- Sustainability and Ethics: Discussions on ethical issues in fashion production, consumption, and disposal. We welcome research on sustainable design practices, eco-friendly materials, and the circular economy within the fashion and textile industry.
By fostering an interdisciplinary approach, DESILLES aims to serve as a bridge between academic research, industry practice, and artistic exploration, promoting a holistic understanding of fashion and textile fields in a global context.
